Intensives
Deep healing, lasting change
Private pay · in person and virtual · Mon–Fri with weekend options
A highly concentrated structure of treatment that allows you to support focused progress, growth, and meaningful improvement in a condensed timeframe.
01— What an intensive is
Individual intensives offer a space beyond weekly therapy to go deeper, heal core wounds, and experience transformation. You’ll receive a trauma-informed, faith-integrated approach combining EMDR, Havening, narrative and systemic therapy, and spiritual care. This is for those tired of surface-level healing and ready for real change.
Marriage intensives create the space you need to step away from daily pressures and focus fully on your relationship. Unlike weekly sessions, intensives allow extended time to address underlying patterns, process difficult emotions, and begin building a new way forward.

Reserve04— Questions
How do I know if an intensive is right for me?
Intensives are best for individuals or couples who feel stuck in weekly therapy, want to address deeper trauma, or are seeking focused time for breakthrough. In our initial consultation, I’ll help you discern if this format is a good fit for your needs and season of life.
What happens during an intensive?
Each intensive is personalized. We begin with assessment and safety planning, then use approaches like EMDR, Havening, narrative therapy, and faith-integrated care to address both immediate struggles and deeper wounds. Time is structured, but flexible to your story and pace.
Is faith integration required?
Not at all. While I offer prayer, Scripture reflection, and Christ-centered healing for those who desire it, this is always invitational, never prescriptive. Your comfort, values, and faith journey will always be respected.
What if I become overwhelmed during an intensive?
Intensives are carefully paced, with breaks built in. My role is to provide safety and guidance so you can process at a level that’s tolerable for your body, mind, and spirit. You’ll also leave with tools for grounding and continued support.
Can I use my insurance?
Intensives are private pay only. This allows us to focus fully on your needs rather than insurance restrictions.
How do follow-ups work?
Each intensive includes at least one follow-up appointment, either in person or virtually. This allows us to process what came up, reinforce growth, and ensure you feel supported as you return to daily life.
Do you see clients from out of state?
Yes. Salina sits at the intersection of I-70 and I-135, an easy drive from Wichita, Kansas City, and Denver, with nearby airports, hotels, and restaurants. Emma is happy to provide guidance on local lodging and amenities.
What’s the difference between working with you and seeing a biblical counselor or coach?
I am a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist (LCMFT), which means I’ve completed a graduate degree, clinical training, and state licensure requirements to practice therapy. This allows me to address not only relational and communication issues but also the deeper patterns, emotional wounds, and trauma beneath them. Biblical counselors or coaches may offer encouragement and guidance, but they are not licensed to diagnose or treat mental health conditions. You don’t have to choose between sound therapeutic care and faith integration — you can have both.
